As a choreographer, Bysheim is interested in decentralising layers of engrained hierarchies in our social codes. She works particularly with language, playing with ambiguous text and choreography to open and expand the experience of navigating through layers of meaning. Her choreography incorporates structured scores for improvisation, yet allows space for the unknown and chaotic to occur. She is interested in the transformation and deconstruction of structures and systems- moving them into new unknown territories.
Bysheim graduated from a Masters in Choreography at The National Arts Academy Oslo, spring 2021. Her earlier education includes Trinity Laban, School of new dance, Oslo and Ballet West.
In 2020 Bysheim was selected to be a part of The Norwegian National Ballet´s initiativ "Kvinnelig Koreografisk Satsning/ New Female Choreographic Voices". She is among one of ten selected female choreographers. The initiativ is ongoing and funded by Talent Norge & The Norwegian Lottery.
From 2018 -2019 Bysheim was a participant in CODA´s KreativLab for young choreographers. More info https://codadancefest.no/kreativ-lab/
In 2017 Bysheim was a part of Skuespiller- og dansealliansens mentor programme. The same year, she was also awarded Bergen City Councils artist residency apartment in Berlin for 3 months.
